Beginning as a retail bakery in Winston-Salem, NC and operating continuously since 1930 as Dewey's Bakery, Salem Baking Company was created when Dewey’s expanded to national distribution in 1992. The company is named after the Moravian settlement of Salem located in the community, which was established in 1766, and was the source of the recipe for their first product - Moravian Cookies.

Since then, Salem Baking has introduced an array of new products, each with a story that spans generations and cultures.
