Mast Store Passport

What is a passport? In short, a passport is merely a few leaves of paper marked with photos and stamps. In modern legal terms defined by U.S. Department of State, it is “a request to foreign governments to permit you to travel or temporarily reside in their territories and have access to lawful local aid and protection.” While extending us welcome to a new place, passports also offer their holder the services of the U.S. embassy or consulate as a sort of diplomatic home-away-from-home. 

As Mast embraces how history and travel change us, it gives us the opportunity to introduce a new tradition: The Mast Store Passport.  

For the first time, all fans of Mast Store can document their personal journey to each Mast Store location. Upon visiting a Mast location for the first time with a passport, the holder receives a stamp on the store’s corresponding passport page. The store’s page features a bit of history about the building and the community as a word of welcome to our Mast Store travelers. The passport also includes a space for you to record your own observations as well as a few additional blank pages reserved for stamps of future Mast Store locations. 

Mast Store Passports are available for purchase on your next store visit for $5 (plus tax) from any Mast Store location. Each passport includes a $5 coupon applicable to any one in-store purchase of $25 or more until December 31, 2026. For more answers to often-asked questions, please see the FAQs below.

FAQs

1. What is the prize/reward at the end? 

The prize for visiting each location is an exclusive Mast General Store-branded item. 

2. I’ve already visited all the Mast Stores. Can I get the prize without having passport stamps? Or can I get those stamps now? 

While we’re grateful to have many guests who’ve already visited multiple Mast Store locations, a stamp is the only official way to verify your store visit to be eligible for a prize in the Passport program. Unfortunately, stamps cannot be retroactively issued for past store visits. 

3. How much is the passport? 

Mast Store Passports are $5 (sales tax not included), but each includes one (1) $5 coupon valid until December 31, 2026, on any purchase of more than $25. 

4. How do I get my passport stamped? 

Visit the designated register with your Passport to request a stamp from any Mast Store employee. In most stores, this register will be located in the Fashion Department. If you have a question regarding its location, look for Passport signage at any register or ask a Mast associate, who will gladly direct you to the register with passport stamps. 

5. Is there a charge for passport stamps? 

No, there is no charge for a stamp at any location. 

6. What happens if I lose my passport? 

Unfortunately, lost or stolen Passports cannot be replaced.  

7. Do you have to make a purchase to get your passport stamped? 

No purchase is required to request a location stamp, and no purchase is required to participate in the Passport program other than your purchase of the Passport itself. 

8. Can I get a stamp if I forgot my passport? 

If you forget to bring your Passport you may request a location sticker, which will substitute as a stamp to verify your visit. Once you recover your Passport, write the date of your visit on the “Visited on” line of the appropriate location’s page and place the sticker above the date. 

9. What if I forget to get my passport stamped during my visit? 

You must show your Passport to receive a stamp, or request a sticker if you’ve forgotten your Passport, during your store visit. Proof of your visit cannot be issued retroactively. 

10. If you open a new “old” location after I purchase my passport, do I have to collect a stamp from there to qualify for the reward? 

If a new “old” Mast Store location(s) opens after you purchase your Passport, you are not required to attain a stamp from the new location(s) prior to mailing your Passport to the Mast Store Home Office to be eligible for the prize. The date of purchase determines what locations are required for completion of the Passport.

11. How do I submit my passport for the prize/reward? 

Completed Passports with stamps/stickers verifying visits to ALL Mast Store locations open at the time of your passport purchase must be mailed to the Mast Store Home Office, 200 Punkin Center, Banner Elk, NC  28604. 

12. I made some notes in my passport when we visited each location, and I want to keep it as a souvenir. How can I keep it and redeem it for my prize? 

Your completed Passport will be returned to you with your prize. If any additional requirements must be completed to be eligible for the prize, your Passport will be returned so that you may fulfill them.
