The calendar may say summer, but fall is the word of the day. New arrivals for the upcoming season are arriving daily. As trends do, everything old is new again. Many of this fall’s fashion trends are remakes of styles from a not-too-distant past. Mast Store’s fashion sense tends to embrace the classics because you can never go wrong there. But you will see some of the trends represented in our fashion and footwear departments. Let’s have a look.

The hot colors this fall feature everything from a dainty pink to a very powerful red. Navy is a great base color, as is gray, and you’ll see those used prominently for both men and women. They are safe colors, but they also allow latitude for creativity. Other colors will be a little reminiscent of the forest, with some deep greens and fall maple leaf oranges. For men, fall will feature better-fitting clothes. The cuts will be a little more tailored without being confining. Stretch is a big factor in making this possible. Pants and shirts are adding just a touch of Lycra/Spandex to help with freedom of movement. Women discovered this wonderful alliance of components years ago, so gentlemen, fear not, you will enjoy the way it makes your favorite jeans or pants fit and feel.  Sweaters will be dominated by ¼-zip (or buttoned) pullovers, which are easily paired with t-shirts or button-down shirts.

For women, many of last year’s trends are continuing to flourish. Tops on trend include tunics and flowing cuts paired with skinny jeans and leggings. Salaam and Andree by Unit will have several options in this realm. Embroidery is another trending embellishment. Look to Andree to continue with its dominance in this area. Lulu-B is continuing to grow and will offer several textured tops in fall’s hottest colors, some will have cool button embellishments. The women’s accessory of the fall is the blanket scarf.

For shoes, of course, comfort wins out over everything. What’s trending in footwear is athletic-y looking slip-ons, like the Nohea and Pehuea from OluKai. Short, pull-on boots for both men and women are still trending, as are taller boots to be worn with skinny jeans for women.
