Smartwool Second Cut Sock Recycling Program

Everyone — and everything — deserves a second chance, including your socks!

Mast General Store is proud to extend the Smartwool Second Cut program to all guests as a way to recycle your socks.

Second Cut offers the opportunity to turn in socks so that they can be reused to make new products. Socks with long-lost mates, past-their-prime socks, and even socks with holes in their toes and heels qualify. They can be any brand, condition, or variety.

The only catch is your socks MUST be clean to contribute to the cause. Not too much to ask, right? Just bring them into any Mast Store location and give them to a sales associate at the register. 

All socks will be transported to Material Return, a post-consumer textile processing company located an hour away from the Original Mast Store, to be deconstructed and remade into new products, like yarns, fabrics, and filling for insulation.
