Marmot

The Marmot Company was born in 1974 in Grand Junction, CO. Its first big break was providing very puffy jackets, now known as the Golden Mantle, for a Clint Eastwood film called The Eiger Sanction. Two years later, a fortuitous meeting with Joe Tanner of W.L. Gore & Assoc. led to Marmot producing and testing sleeping bags using Gore-Tex fabric. Maintaining the connection, Marmot is today the oldest customer of W. L . Gore. From humble beginnings, Marmot’s mission remains designing the highest quality performance product.
