VALLE CRUCIS, NC – High Country Food Hub deliveries can be picked up at the Original Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, North Carolina, beginning Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The High Country Food Hub is a project of Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and connects locals, visitors, and restaurants with local farmers.
“We are excited to offer this service to the community,” said Christine Thompson, general manager of the Original Mast Store. “Since its beginning, the Mast Store has been a place to make connections and share stories. Having a High Country Food Hub pick up here strengthens bonds with our employees, guests, neighbors, visitors, and local producers over the most basic of needs – food.”
The process of using the High Country Food Hub is easy. Visit HighCountryFoodHub.org and create a free account. Orders can be placed from noon on Thursdays until just before midnight on Mondays. Orders are pulled together and dropped off at either the Food Hub, itself, on Wednesdays or one of the seven satellite pickup spots on Wednesdays or Thursdays, depending on the location.
There is a wide variety of goods that can be ordered through the Food Hub in addition to vegetables and meats, including prepared dishes and meal kits, bread, cut flowers, chocolate, and coffee. Everything must be grown or produced within a 100-mile radius of the Food Hub.
On pick-up day, remember to bring a box and cooler to take home your order.
Supporting local agriculture is a win-win-win scenario. It provides foods that are more nutrient-rich; the money exchanged stays in the community longer and helps small farms continue to run; and creates a stronger, more beautiful and sustainable community.
