Cheerwine Float Candy Bar Debuts at Annual Cheerwine Festival
VALLE CRUCIS, NC - Mast General Store is pleased to announce another collaboration with Cheerwine that’s sure to bring about a cheery disposition. The Cheerwine Float Candy Bar from Mast Store Provisioners is officially launching at the Cheerwine Festival in Salisbury, North Carolina, and at all Mast Store locations on Saturday, May 17.
Cheerwine proudly stands as a Carolina original, cherished by generations for its signature cherry flavor. Born in North Carolina in 1917, this iconic soda has become a beloved tradition, synonymous with the spirit and taste of the Carolinas.
“Our Cheerwine Chocolate Bar that launched last year has been wildly successful,” said Stefano Tringali, the Mast Store’s candy buyer. “If you enjoyed the first Cheerwine bar, you will really like this one. Many people at Mast Store’s worldwide headquarters are telling me they like it better!”
According to the November 1921 edition of The Soda Fountain, an Illustrated Monthly Publication for the Soda Fountain Trade, the ice cream float was invented by Robert M. Green in 1876 at a pharmacy in Philadelphia. Green’s new invention became so popular that the drug store had difficulty keeping enough ice cream to make the tasty drinks.
The Mast Store Provisioners Cheerwine Float Milk Chocolate Bar captures the magic of Cheerwine combined with vanilla ice cream in a way that can be enjoyed anytime and almost everywhere.
“Partnering with Mast General Store on the Cheerwine Chocolate Bar was a natural fit, so we’re excited to team up again for the new Cheerwine Float Candy Bar,” said Joy Ritchie Harper, vice president of marketing for Cheerwine and fifth generation founding family member. “Mast Store shares our commitment to quality, and we love collaborating with fellow Southern brands. We can’t wait for our fans to try it at this year's Cheerwine Festival.”
Cheerwine is no stranger to collaboration, having previously partnered with other prominent North Carolina-based companies such as Krispy Kreme, Food Lion, and Cackalacky to release doughnuts, ice cream, and barbecue sauces.
“We look forward to introducing fans of this uniquely Southern brand to a new way to enjoy their favorite flavor profile at the Cheerwine Festival in Salisbury,” continued Tringali. “We are also excited to be the only place at festival to find the Cheerwine Goo Goo Cluster.”
For those unable to attend the Festival in Salisbury on May 17, the Mast Store Provisioners Cheerwine Float Milk Chocolate Bar will be available, along with an exclusive Mast Store/Cheerwine T-shirt, at all Mast Store locations.
