Pennies for the Park – In the 1920s, school children gave their pennies to help establish the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Today, you can contribute your pennies (nickels, dimes, quarters, and even dollars are OK, too) to help preserve, protect, and enhance the most-visited national park in the United States. All proceeds will be given to the Friends of the Smokies. Donation boxes can be found at the Mast General Store and throughout Downtown Waynesville.
