Live Music – Gather around the pot-bellied stove for some foot-stompin’ music. Bands play on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon until 2 p.m. (sometimes a little earlier, sometimes a little later). Genres featured include bluegrass, Appalachian, old-time, and traditional.

November 27-29, 12-13, 19-20, 24 – Visit with Santa (Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday noon until  3 p.m.) and sample holiday fare for your table. Santa will be available for last minute discussions with good girls and boys on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

December 5, 12, 19 – 10 a.m.-Noon – Kids’ Make-and-Take Crafts -  Children 12 and under are invited to make a take-home craft, with their parents’ help, they can take home with them. Please bring two cans of food to donate to the Hunger Coalition.

December 5-6 – Santa Paws – Bring your dog, your cat, your bird, or even your gecko to the Little Red Schoolhouse to have his photo taken with Santa Paws. This is an annual fundraiser for the Watauga County Humane Society. For more information, call 828-264-9116.

December 6 – Valle Crucis Fireside Tour – Purchase your tickets for this annual tour of Historic Valle Crucis. It is a fundraiser for the Valle Crucis Community Park.

Holiday Sale - November 27-29, December 5,6, 12, 13, 19, 20 - The Little Red Schoolhouse will be decked out in full Christmas regalia and will have many ideas to accessorize your holiday decor - ornaments, pottery, baskets, toys, table linens, and more....all at 50% off of retail prices.

– November 27-December 24 - Christmas in the Valle is a collection of events at the Original Store, the Little Red Schoolhouse, the Annex, and the whole Valle Crucis Community


Old Boone Mercantile

Santa’s Toy Box – December 4, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.– Make the holidays merry and bright for a local child who is in need of toy or a book and a healthy dose of the holiday spirit. High Country Radio, Boone Ford, and Mast General Store host a toy drop-off in front of the Downtown Boone store all day. Listen on am 1450 and fm 102.3 and other High Country Radio stations for live remote broadcasts.

Downtown Boone Art Crawl – December 4, 5:30-7 p.m. – Join us for an evening with the arts. A local artisan will display wares and live music is performed.
