Flour Sifter

Until recently, I never did much baking. I guess part of the reason was that my recipes never turned out right.

Then I spoke with one of our 'Merc Chics' and she told me that was because I didn't sift my flour. The story she told went something like this:

In Europe, bakers make their products by weight. Here in America we use 'cups'. It might sound like apples and oranges, but a cup of sifted flour weighs less than a cup of non sifted flour.
