The beauty of spring is cascading from South Carolina’s midlands to the mountains of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. We’re excited to go outside, soak in the sunshine, and enjoy the glorious new blooms! Below you'll find a few of our favorite ways to enjoy the upcoming Easter weekend:

There's always something going on in the Valle - come down and see us this weekend! Enjoy live music at the Original Store throughout the month of April. Gather around the pot-bellied stove or on the back porch for some toe tapping music Saturdays and Sundays from around noon until 2 p.m. Most Sunday afternoons between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., you'll find John Peterson appearing at the Annex, telling stories and playing a banjo he made all by himself. Check HERE for the full schedule. (Remember, all locations are closed on Easter Sunday.)

Visit one of Boone's beloved neighboring communities at SAVOR Blowing Rock. SAVOR Blowing Rock returns to North Carolina’s Prettiest Small Town from Thursday, April 20, through Sunday, April 23. The 2017 edition of SAVOR Blowing Rock includes an expanded range of seminars and events that feature regional culture, music, craft beers from local breweries and across the state, beverage tastings, and dinners that showcase the town’s culinary artistry. Asheville’s very first brewery, Highland Brewing Company, is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the whole family this weekend. Starting at noon on April 15th, have your baskets ready!  Toddlers through 4-year-olds will have their eggs hidden in the grassy part of the Meadow and 5- to 10-year-olds will have their eggs hidden in the woods of the Meadow. Eggs will have kid-friendly prizes inside and will go quickly, so please arrive right at noon if you're participating in the egg hunt. Happy Hens & Highlands Farm will also be on-site with some of their spring babies.

Biltmore’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Rabbit makes his annual appearance on Biltmore’s Front Lawn on Easter Sunday, April 16th. Less than 30 minutes from Hendersonville, the Easter Egg Hunts will begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Children 9 and younger may attend the hunt for free when accompanied by an estate pass holder or a ticketed adult. Linger a while after the hunt for Biltmore Blooms. The flowers are singing their joy for the return of spring throughout the Estate. There’s more information HERE.

The Easter Hat Parade in nearby Dillsboro is a beloved WNC tradition. Come at 10:30 a.m. to make a hat or bring your own! Get your face painted and meet the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts begin on Webster Street every half hour by age group. Prizes are announced after the Parade: ribbons are given for the Prettiest, Funniest, Largest, Smallest, Most Unusual, Most Easter-like, Best Smelling, Cutest, Most Outrageous, Best In Show and "Poofiest" hats, among other unusual categories. There is even a ribbon awarded to the Best Animal in Show! Afterward, the Dogwood Crafters will present an English Tea at the Jarrett House. Tea and food will be served on fine china, with the artisans from Dogwood preparing the delicacies. There are two seatings: 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. Cost is $12 per person. Click HERE for tickets.
