Ashe County Piecemakers Quilt Guild
The Ashe County Piecemakers Quilt Guild is a non-profit organization that provides quilts to fire victims, premature babies, and many other needy causes. They support the Center for Aging and make items for the military, as well as meeting to promote and teach the art of quilting while inspiring one another. You'll be inspired with the warmth and peace of their quilts as well.
The Piecemakers will be at the Mast Store Annex on Saturday, July 31 and Saturday, August 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. They will be demonstrating the fun of quilting and selling raffle tickets for the beautiful quilt pictured above, which will be given away on September 18, 2010 at the Ashe County Piecemakers Quilt Show in West Jefferson at Jefferson Station. This work of art in beautiful blues and yellows is called "Summer Breeze", measures 82" x 84" and features absolutely stunning machine quilting. Tickets are $1 per ticket or 6 for $5.
Mark your calendars to drop by the Annex on one of the Piecemakers' visiting days, whether you've already been bitten by the quilting bug or just enjoy beautiful things. You'll get a warm feeling from purchasing a raffle ticket (or six) and helping out their cause, and you'll feel cozier still if you are chosen as the winner of this lovely quilt!
