Hits the AT

Hit the Appalachian Trail with Russ Anderson, a 72-year-old Navy veteran and a Mast General Store customer. Russ, whose trail name is “Silver Eagle” has had a desire to hike the entire Appalachian Trail for a few years now. Proving that it is never too late to live your dreams, on March 26th, Russ began his hike on the Appalachian Trail. Russ started his adventure on the top of Springer Mountain in North Georgia. Shortly after taking his first steps the rain started, and it keep raining for a week.

Ignoring the weather challenge, Russ zipped up his North Face Venture Jacket, put his waterproof pack cover over his Gregory Pack and kept on hiking. On April 7th, Russ hit the 100-mile mark as he left Georgia and crossed the North Carolina border near Franklin, North Carolina.
