A Foot Stomping Affair
A Foot Stomping Affair

The Hendersonville Street Dance is a summer tradition held every Monday evening through August 15th. Don’t miss the last two weeks of this wonderful event when Main Street comes alive with people square dancing and clogging to a band playing traditional bluegrass music. Special appearances by area clogging teams make for an entertaining, foot stomping affair.
At 6:30 pm, a local caller will teach audience members basic square dancing steps such as the Right Hand Across, Open the Garden Gate, and the Shoe Fly Swing as well as traditional Appalachian square dancing. Bring a chair, sit back, relax and enjoy mountain heritage music and dancing from 7 until 9 in the evening. The seating area opens after 5:30 and early admission is prohibited. Please leave your pets comfortably at home as the Hendersonville City ordinance prohibits animals in the event area. Get on down to Main Street and join in the fun before the street dances end for summer 2011.
